Tooling

Our T-REX Framing System - also patent pending - was precision-engineered to enable highly accurate cutting of beams and timbers. The five different tools make post and beam framing a breeze, while preserving clean and modern lines. While you can get by with basic carpentry tools, you must have a tool to cut a 1/4" slot and our Slotter is good choice for that purpose. The entire set of tools will make your job a whole lot easier, though!  Watch the videos below to see exactly how to use the T-REX Framing System.

Everything You Need To Get The Job Done!

Our T-REX Framing System was precision-engineered to enable highly accurate cutting of beams and timbers.  The custom tools we offer make post and beam framing a breeze, while preserving clean and modern lines.  While you can get by with basic carpentry tools, you must have a tool to cut a 1/4" slot and our T-REX Slotter is good choice for that purpose.  Although the entire set of tools will make your job a whole lot easier!  Watch the videos below to see exactly how to use the T-REX Framing System

SLOTTERS

We offer three (3) different Slotters to make the slots in your beam depending on whether you are a professional, an experienced homeowner or a homeowner with limited-use.

T-REX Pro Slotter

This heavy-duty versatile tool works especially well with larger timbers as it clamps onto your beam conveniently. Any chainsaw can be used to make the 1/4" slot required for the T-REX connector. We recommend the lightweight electric Stihl Chainsaw MSE 250 C-Q. This custom aluminum tool offers many options:

  • Slots any size beam

  • Square cuts beams up to 14” plus

  • Creates tenons

T-REX Slotter

Clamp this custom aluminum tool onto any chainsaw with a minimum bar length of 20" to make the 1/4" slot required for the T-REX connector. We recommend using an electric Stihl Chainsaw MSE 250 C-Q which, together with the Slotter, creates an easy slot.

  • Slots beams up to 12” wide

  • Cuts slots for connectors from 6” to 8”

T-REX EZ Slotter

Designed as a limited-use tool, this offers another option to make the 1/4" slot required for the T-REX connector. Any saw that can cut a 1/4" slot can be fastened to the EZ Slotter. The EZ slotter is required to make the slot for most angled connectors.

  • Slots beams up to 8”

  • Cuts slots for beams used with angled bracing

ROTARY TABLE & CHAINSAW GUIDE

These two tools are designed to be used together by both professionals and homeowners to cut any type/size of wood or timber.

This versatile custom tool is screwed to the beam and used in conjunction with the T-REX Chainsaw Guide for a variety of accurate cuts. An electric 14.5 amp Makita Chainsaw with a 16” bar is what we choose, but any saw can be used.

  • Square cuts

  • Angled cuts

  • Birdsmouth cuts
